Person sitting on a windowsill gazing out a large window, with soft, diffused light. The mood appears contemplative and calm.

If the sky can’t be bothered to wake up then why should I?

In my bed, scrolling through Threads,

I can pretend the day ahead isn't full of hatred.

Funny gifs, recycled memes, still better than all the screams

From political whackos dressed in the shadows of historical sickos.

If the sky can’t be bothered to wake up then why should I?

All this winning sure feels like daylight saving.

We keep falling back, weighed down by a quack

who gets us all out of whack while our light keeps on dimming.

Reset the clock, jump forward; use compassionate reasoning.

If the sky can’t be bothered to wake up then why should I?

Because truth, fairness, and hope still matter, that's why.
